DAVAO CITY — The family of a 40-year-old LGBTQIA+ member is demanding justice after he was allegedly beaten to death by several individuals out of jealousy.

The victim, identified as Eliseo Agang of Bucana, Davao City, died on August 7, 2025, at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) after more than a week of fighting for his life in the hospital.

According to his relative, identified only as “Len,” Agang was able to speak before his death, revealing that three to four people attacked him — some of whom were also members of the LGBTQI community.

The victim had been missing for two days before his family learned that he had been rushed to the hospital. He was found with severe bruises from his chest to his head, indicating a brutal beating.

Police are now investigating the incident, which the family believes was driven by personal jealousy. The family has turned over all information to authorities and is calling for swift action to bring those responsible to justice.

“We just want justice for him. He didn’t deserve to die this way,” said Len.

Authorities have yet to confirm if charges will be filed against the suspects as the investigation continues.
