MINDANAO — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a regional weather forecast for Mindanao as the southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to affect the entire region, bringing occasional to scattered rains, thunderstorms, and possible flash floods or landslides.

At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “Crising” (international name: Wipha) was spotted at 110 km west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts reaching up to 115 km/h, while moving west-northwest at 25 km/h. Although the storm is far from Mindanao, it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, resulting in widespread rains across the island.

  • Rest of Mindanao: Expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
