Opol, Misamis Oriental — Authorities arrested three men during a buy-bust operation conducted late evening on July 8, 2025, in Zone 3, Barangay Taboc, Opol, resulting in the seizure of suspected illegal drugs valued at over ₱47,000.

According to the Opol Municipal Police Station, the operation was carried out around 11:53 p.m. with coordination from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Seized during the operation were approximately seven grams of suspected shabu worth ₱47,600, several sachets containing the illegal substance, marked money used in the transaction, and coin purses.

The three suspects, all residents of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon, were immediately brought to the Opol MPS for proper documentation and disposition. Authorities are preparing the necessary charges against them for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In a statement, Police Brigadier General Rolindo M. Suguilon, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), lauded the successful operation and reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace in Northern Mindanao.

“Hindi titigil ang kapulisan sa pagsugpo sa droga. Sama-sama nating gawing ligtas at mapayapa ang Northern Mindanao,” PBGen Suguilon stated.

The arrest is the latest in a series of intensified anti-drug campaigns in the region as law enforcement authorities continue to crack down on illegal narcotics.
