Zamboanga City – May 29, 2025 — In a significant stride against illegal drugs and criminality, authorities from the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO) arrested a wanted drug suspect during a joint police operation in Zamboanga City.
The operation, conducted around 4:25 PM, was a collaborative effort involving personnel from Olutanga Municipal Police Station (MPS), Mabuhay MPS, PS6 Tetuan MPS Zamboanga City, and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of ZSBPPO.
The suspect, a 27-year-old male band singer and resident of Purok Baybay, Barangay Looc Barlac, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay, was intercepted along Natividad Street, Barangay Tetuan. He was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on March 7, 2025, under Criminal Case No. IM-25-3516 for Violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs). The court has set bail at PHP 230,000.
Following the arrest, the suspect was placed in the custody of Olutanga MPS for proper legal proceedings.
“This arrest is a direct warning to all drug personalities that we are relentless, we will not stop until you are held accountable. The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office will enforce the law without compromise — wherever it leads, and whoever is involved,” said Police Colonel Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, ZSBPPO Provincial Director.
The ZSBPPO reaffirmed its commitment to the Philippine National Police’s intensified anti-illegal drug campaign, vowing continued efforts to ensure a safer and drug-free Zamboanga Sibugay.
