KIAMBA, Sarangani Province (June 16, 2025) — A former member of a local armed group voluntarily surrendered to authorities following a coordinated internal security operation conducted on June 14 in the mountainous area of Sitio Talok Udi, Barangay Katubao, Kiamba, Sarangani Province.

The operation was led by the Kiamba Municipal Police Station under the supervision of PMAJ Emmanuel Y. Lariosa, Chief of Police, in coordination with the 1204th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12, Maritime Law Enforcement Team (MLET), 105th Philippine Army, Charlie Company, 2nd Sarangani Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Foxtrot Tracker Team of the Regional Intelligence Division 12 (RID12). The activity was carried out under Oplan “KOME.”

The surrenderer, known by the alias “Polyo,” is a 60-year-old farmer and resident of Purok Matingao 1, Barangay Tambilil, Kiamba. He handed over a 12-gauge shotgun along with four live rounds of ammunition.

Authorities identified “Polyo” as a former member of the Regional Sentro de Grabidad (RSDG), Regional Operations Command (ROC), and the Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR). He is not listed under the Periodic Status Report on Threat Groups (Non-PSR).

Following the surrender, he was placed under the custody of the Kiamba MPS for proper documentation and debriefing.

Officials emphasized that the successful surrender underscores the sustained efforts of government forces to promote peace and security in the province through peaceful means and community-based approaches.
