La Paz, Agusan del Sur – June 4, 2025 — A joint anti-drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 (PDEA RO 13) – Agusan del Sur Provincial Office and the La Paz Municipal Police Station resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug personality in Barangay Osmeña on the evening of June 3.
The suspect was apprehended at around 7:15 PM through a buy-bust operation that yielded approximately 0.5 gram of suspected shabu, estimated to have a street value of ₱4,000. Authorities recovered a heat-sealed sachet used in the transaction and another sachet found in the suspect’s possession.
Non-drug evidence, including marked buy-bust money and a mobile phone believed to be used in illegal drug dealings, was also confiscated during the operation.
Charges will be filed against the suspect for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
Authorities credited the success of the operation to the timely information provided by concerned citizens and barangay officials. PDEA RO 13 emphasized that community vigilance and inter-agency collaboration play a crucial role in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.
The agency renewed its call for public support and urged residents to report any suspicious drug-related activities in their area.
“Together, we can create a safer, drug-free environment for all,” PDEA RO 13 said in a statement.
