The provincial government, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), continues to roll out initiatives to boost local livelihoods and food security. On June 4, a total of 126 free-range chickens were distributed to 21 beneficiaries as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen farmers’ income sources.

The recipients, composed of individual farmers and members of partner Farmer Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs), are part of the Free-Range Chicken Production Multiplier Farm project under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) program of DA-10.
To ensure the sustainability of the initiative, a three-day training on Free-Range Chicken Production and Management was conducted from June 4 to 6. The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of beneficiaries in properly caring for, feeding, and managing their chickens to increase productivity and improve livelihood outcomes.
This project is one of the government’s continuing strategies to support rural communities and promote sustainable food systems in the province.
