GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Two suspects were arrested and over P2.9 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during a joint law enforcement operation by Police Station 9 of the General Santos City Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XII on Saturday morning, May 18, 2025.
Armed with search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 23, 11th Judicial Region, authorities launched the operation around 7:08 AM in Purok 8, Barangay Conel, targeting two individuals identified only by their aliases—“Kenny,” 31, a make-up artist, and “Digong,” 35, unemployed.
During the search, operatives recovered a significant volume of illegal drugs, including:
- Eight jumbo-sized, six small-sized, one medium-sized, and one large-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
- One heat-sealed sachet, one white paper, and one zip-lock bag containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and seeds.
Authorities also confiscated various drug paraphernalia such as three improvised tooters with traces of suspected shabu, one glass tooter, a bamboo stick believed used for repacking, rolled aluminum foil, five lighters, and one weighing scale.
A replica of an SR-16 5.56mm rifle, two replica magazines, and two live rounds of 5.56mm ammunition were also recovered, along with assorted packaging materials, containers, and cash amounting to P69,850.
The total estimated value of the seized illegal drugs was pegged at P2,925,216.40.
The suspects were brought to Police Station 9 for documentation and processing. Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are currently being prepared.
Police officials credited the success of the operation to the strong coordination between law enforcement units and vowed to continue the intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
