Malaybalay City, Bukidnon – May 6, 2025 — In a significant step toward peace and reintegration, five former rebels voluntarily surrendered their firearms to authorities in a ceremony held at Camp Captain Ramon M. Ohayon in Malaybalay City.

The turnover was led by Police Colonel Jovit Lontac Culaway, Provincial Director of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (PPO), as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support former rebels through the Task Force Balik-Loob under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

A total of five assorted firearms were turned over by the individuals who decided to abandon the armed struggle and return to the fold of the law.

The activity was also attended by Ms. Alicia Claire C. Popera, Local Government Operations Officer V of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bukidnon, and First Lieutenant Jim S. Salviejo, representative of the Philippine Army’s 88th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division.

Authorities lauded the decision of the former rebels, calling it a crucial contribution to lasting peace and development in the province. The E-CLIP program continues to offer support and reintegration assistance to former rebels who choose a peaceful path forward.
