Davao City – A 39-year-old businesswoman identified only by the alias “Dianne” was declared dead on arrival after being shot while inside her black pickup truck parked in front of an establishment along Palma Gil Street, Barangay 13-B, around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

According to initial police investigation, two witnesses came forward and stated they heard two gunshots fired from a Mitsubishi pickup. They reportedly saw a man wearing a black t-shirt, denim pants, and a cap casually walking away from the scene toward the corner of Bajada and Palma Gil Streets.

Shortly after the shooting, Dianne—who was reportedly single and a resident of Belisario Heights in Barangay Anglionto—managed to exit her vehicle and seek help. She was initially rushed to San Pedro Hospital and later transferred to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), where she was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Further investigation led authorities to identify the suspect as a married Police Corporal assigned at Police Station 15 in Ecoland. The suspect was positively identified by witnesses through images shown by investigators.

Recovered from the crime scene were two spent shells from a 9mm pistol.

The suspect reportedly surrendered to the Digos City Police Station around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025. Investigation is ongoing.
