BAYANG, Lanao del Sur – April 27, 2025 – Authorities successfully arrested a Top 10 Most Wanted Person at the regional level in a high-risk law enforcement operation that unfolded in Barangay Mapantao, Bayang, Lanao del Sur.
The suspect, wanted for Murder under Criminal Case No. 0699-2020, was apprehended by a joint tracker team led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Lanao del Sur Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with units from PSOG/PDEU LDSPPO, the 1403rd and 1402nd Regional Mobile Force Companies of RMFB14-A, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 15 (RIU15).
During the operation, the law enforcement team encountered approximately 15 armed individuals carrying high-powered firearms. A firefight erupted, resulting in one officer being wounded. Despite the brief gun battle, authorities were able to apprehend the target suspect and a wounded associate, who was promptly brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were:
- One (1) Caliber 7.62 M14 rifle (Serial No. 1539689),
- One (1) steel magazine for an M14 rifle, and
- Seven (7) live rounds of Caliber 7.62 ammunition.
The arrested individual was brought to the CIDG Lanao del Sur PFU for documentation and further legal procedures before the Warrant of Arrest is returned to the court of origin.
This operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) intensified campaign under PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, which focuses on the nationwide arrest of wanted individuals. Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), led by PBGEN Romeo J. Macapaz, continues to carry out intelligence-based operations to bring criminals to justice and maintain regional peace and security.
