GENERAL SANTOS CITY – In a continued effort to strengthen the campaign against criminality and illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) reported the successful arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm during a search operation on April 24, 2025.
Personnel from Police Station 1, the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), the City Mobile Force Company (SWAT) of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), and the 1201st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 (RMFB 12) jointly served a search warrant at Purok San Roque, Silway, Barangay Dadiangas West.
The operation led to the arrest of a 44-year-old resident identified as alias “Jonard.” Authorities recovered from the suspect a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, loaded with three live rounds of ammunition, and five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 10 grams. The seized illegal drugs have an estimated street value of ₱68,000.00 based on the National Standard Drug Price (NSDP).
The suspect and the recovered items were brought to Police Station 1 for documentation and proper disposition. Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are being prepared against him.
PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, emphasized the importance of such operations, especially with the upcoming elections. “Eliminating illegal drugs and firearms is crucial to prevent chaos and ensure our communities remain safe and secure,” he said.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and order across the region, assuring the public of continued intensified operations against criminal elements.
