General Santos City – A joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in General Santos City led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at ₱79,900 on April 2, 2025.

The operation, carried out at Darussalam Bridge, Purok Darussalam, Barangay Bawing, was a coordinated effort between the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12. Various units from the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), including Police Station 5, City Mobile Force Company, City Intelligence Unit, and City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, as well as the Regional Intelligence Division 12 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 12, participated in the operation.

Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Manoy,” 52 years old, a resident of Purok Guardian Hill, Barangay Bawing. Confiscated from his possession were 22 sachets of suspected shabu, totaling 11.75 grams. The seized illegal drugs will be subjected to laboratory examination at the Regional Forensic Unit 12, Camp Fermin Lira Jr., Barangay Dadiangas West.

The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 5, GSCPO, while legal charges are being prepared against him.

PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12, reaffirmed the authorities’ commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade, stating that operations against drug offenders will continue to be intensified to safeguard communities.
