Zamboanga Sibugay remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for its residents and visitors despite a recent travel advisory regarding the Zamboanga Peninsula. Local officials emphasize that the province itself does not face significant security threats and continues to be a peaceful and orderly place to live, work, and visit.
Authorities highlight that the entire Zamboanga Peninsula has been declared insurgency-free and is actively focusing on development. In particular, Zamboanga Sibugay has reported no recent incidents of kidnapping, civil unrest, or heightened terror threats. To sustain this peaceful atmosphere, the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO), in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, has implemented strong counter-terrorism measures and community engagement programs.
As part of its security strategy, the ZSBPPO has increased patrols in key areas, conducted regular security inspections, and strengthened coordination with local communities. These proactive efforts aim to prevent any potential threats and maintain public safety.
PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, Provincial Director of the ZSBPPO, reassured the public of the province’s security. “We reiterate that Zamboanga Sibugay remains a safe place to travel, work, and do business. The province offers a welcoming atmosphere for tourists, investors, and businesses, with its diverse attractions, rich culture, and thriving economy. Our commitment to safety and security remains unwavering,” he stated.
With its continued focus on peace and development, Zamboanga Sibugay remains steadfast in its goal to provide a secure and hospitable environment for all.
