Camp Quintin Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City – The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) continues its strict implementation of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Gun Ban, yielding significant results as of February 28, 2025.
Through sustained COMELEC checkpoints and intensified police operations, PRO 11 has arrested 15 individuals at various checkpoints for gun ban violations. The enforcement efforts also led to the confiscation of seven firearms, adding to the total of 72 firearms seized since the gun ban took effect.
Authorities have apprehended 66 civilians for violating the gun ban, alongside one police officer and one appointed government official. Additionally, law enforcers have confiscated 479 rounds of ammunition and two explosive devices, further bolstering security measures in the region.
Police operations such as anti-illegal drug busts, patrols, and law enforcement initiatives have further reinforced PRO 11’s commitment to maintaining peace and security during the election period. These proactive measures underscore the dedication of regional law enforcers in preventing potential election-related violence.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of PRO 11, emphasized the importance of these operations in ensuring a safe, peaceful, and credible May 2025 election. These efforts align with the directive of PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to uphold free, orderly, honest, and peaceful elections.
