TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, led by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo, welcomed the deployment of four new Doctors to the Barrios (DTTBs) as part of the Department of Health (DOH) Region X initiative to improve healthcare services in the province.
A delegation from DOH Region X, headed by Regional Director Dr. Sulpicio Henry M. Legaspi, Jr., formally introduced the four medical doctors assigned to various municipalities. The new DTTBs are Dr. Abdullah Abdulaziz, MD, who will serve in Kapatagan; Dr. Nasrullah Andam, MD, assigned to Kolambugan; Dr. Shaheen Nhayr, MD, designated in Salvador; and Dr. Johana Muti, MD, posted in Sultan Naga Dimaporo (SND).
Dr. Legaspi emphasized the crucial role of the DTTB program in strengthening healthcare services in underserved areas. “These medical professionals will significantly contribute to providing much-needed medical services in the province. It is also part of their return service to the Department, having been scholars,” he stated.
Governor Angging expressed her gratitude to the newly deployed doctors and assured them of the province’s full support. “Our province is safe, and we assure you of our assistance as you carry out your duties,” she affirmed.
The meeting also became a venue for discussions on future healthcare projects, including the proposed Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) center at the Kauswagan Provincial Hospital. This initiative is being considered in partnership with the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) to further enhance healthcare accessibility.
Among the officials present during the event were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Cristy Atay, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Health; Dr. Jovette Guinal from the Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO); Dr. Cristy Indoc, Provincial Health Officer; Dr. Norhabib Paporo, Chief of Hospital of Kauswagan Provincial Hospital; and Ms. Noreen Lim, Hospital Administrator of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte.
The deployment of the new doctors aligns with the province’s continuing commitment to strengthening medical services and ensuring that quality healthcare reaches even the most remote communities.
