Kidapawan City – February 25, 2025
The City Government of Kidapawan is urging farmer associations (FAs) to take advantage of the agricultural drone assistance provided by the Office of the City Agriculturist. This initiative aims to modernize farming practices, reduce labor costs, and improve overall agricultural productivity.
The agricultural drone technology offers multiple benefits, including efficient seed planting—especially for rice, land mapping, and precision spraying of fertilizers and pesticides. According to agricultural engineers from the Office of the City Agriculturist, the drone can cover up to 19 hectares of farmland in just one hour, significantly increasing efficiency compared to traditional methods.
Farmers who wish to avail of this assistance are advised to submit a formal request to the Office of the City Mayor. Upon approval, the City Agriculture Office will deploy a drone operator to facilitate the service.
This drone assistance program is part of the City Government’s broader efforts to advance the agricultural sector, equipping farmers with innovative tools to enhance productivity and sustainability. By integrating modern technology into farming, Kidapawan City aims to support local farmers in achieving better yields and reducing operational costs.
