Koronadal City – A job order employee assigned to the slaughterhouse of the Koronadal City local government was arrested in a buy-bust operation on February 26, 2025, at around 10:30 PM in Sitio San Isidro, Barangay San Jose, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Regional Director Benjamin C. Recites III of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 12 (PDEA RO12) identified the suspect as Alias Jescel, a 24-year-old butcher and resident of Purok Maawain, Barangay San Jose, Koronadal City.
According to reports, the suspect was caught after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover PDEA agent in exchange for PHP 1,000 in marked money. Authorities also confiscated four more sachets of shabu with an estimated total weight of eight (8) grams, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle used in the transaction.
The seized illegal drugs are estimated to be worth PHP 56,400. The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was carried out by a joint team from the PDEA South Cotabato Provincial Office, PDEA National Special Enforcement Team, South Cotabato Police Provincial Office – PDEU, and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
