Cotabato City, March 20 – A mass signing of appointments and oath-taking ceremony was held today at the Cotabato State University Gymnasium, marking the official entry of 626 teaching, non-teaching, and teaching-related personnel into the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Maguindanao del Sur under the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE).

Among those appointed, 578 individuals were newly hired as Teacher I, while 39 were newly promoted. Additionally, nine non-teaching personnel and two MBHTE Main Office personnel were also included in the appointments. These individuals successfully passed the rigorous selection process conducted by the Ministry’s Regional Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board and are now part of the committed workforce dedicated to improving education in the Bangsamoro region.

In his address, MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal underscored the critical role educators play in shaping the future of Bangsamoro education.

“As MBHTE regional employees, you are equally vital in ensuring that our education system functions effectively and efficiently. Your work in administration, policy implementation, and governance helps sustain the programs that bring quality, inclusive, and accessible education to our learners,” Iqbal stated.

Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s Committee on Basic, Higher, and Technical Education Chairperson, Member of Parliament Eddie M. Alih, also highlighted the transformative power of education.

“Nagsisimula ang magandang kinabukasan pag may edukasyon… Kayo pong mga guro ang nagbibigay inspirasyon sa mga batang walang kakayahang mag-aral,” Alih said.

The newly appointed educators and personnel have embraced their responsibility to deliver inclusive, innovative, and transformative education. Their commitment is seen as a crucial step in strengthening the delivery of quality education in the region, ensuring that learners across Bangsamoro receive the support and knowledge they need for a brighter future.
