Datu Piang, Maguindanao Del Sur – The Maguindanao Del Sur Police Provincial Office (MDSPPO) continues its intensified operations to uphold public safety, successfully arresting two individuals during a police response operation on February 18, 2025. The operation, conducted by the Datu Piang Municipal Police Station (MPS) at approximately 2:00 PM in Brgy. Buayan, led to the confiscation of illegal substances and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities recovered several items from the suspects, including heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu. The confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of Php 34,000. Additionally, law enforcement seized a Nokia keypad cellphone, a lighter, a pair of scissors, an improvised tooter, and an identification card.
The Regional Forensic Unit of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR) will conduct a thorough laboratory analysis of the seized substances. Meanwhile, the suspects remain in the custody of the Datu Piang MPS as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges against them.
PCOL Ryan Bobby C. Paloma, Acting Provincial Director of MDSPPO, commended the Datu Piang MPS for their dedication to public safety. “This operation highlights our continued commitment to ensuring the safety of our communities and preparing for the upcoming national and local elections,” he stated.
The successful apprehension of these individuals underscores the persistent efforts of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order in Maguindanao Del Sur. Authorities encourage public cooperation in reporting illegal activities, reinforcing a collective effort toward a safer and more secure environment.
