General Santos City – Authorities seized seven sachets of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, during the implementation of a search warrant against a drug den maintainer and his alleged supplier on February 1, 2025, at around 12:45 p.m. in Purok 22, Uhaw, Barangay Fatima.
The suspect, identified only as Alias Anton, 25, a male parcel delivery rider and resident of Barangay San Jose, was arrested during the operation conducted inside a drug den allegedly owned by Alias Ronnie, who remains at large. Two other individuals, identified as Alias Rennie and Alias Rex, both previously apprehended in a separate drug den operation in General Santos City, managed to evade arrest.
Authorities confiscated approximately eight grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 54,000. Also seized during the operation were assorted drug paraphernalia and a caliber .38 revolver with live ammunition.
The operation was carried out through the coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 12 (PDEA RO12), PDEA Sultan Kudarat Provincial Office, PDEA Sarangani Provincial Office, PDEA National Special Enforcement Team, PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team, PDEA RO12 Airport Interdiction Unit, General Santos City Police Office – Police Station 7, and the Philippine Coast Guard.
According to Director Benjamin Recites of PDEA RO12, cases for violations of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against both the arrested and at-large suspects.
Authorities continue their manhunt for Alias Ronnie and other fugitives involved in illegal drug operations in the region. The PDEA has urged the public to report any information that may lead to their capture to help in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.
