February 4, 2025 – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather forecast warning of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over several provinces in Mindanao due to easterlies.
Cloudy Skies and Rain Expected in Eastern Mindanao
Residents of Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental should prepare for cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. PAGASA has warned of possible flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to Strong Winds and Rough Seas
The eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong winds from the northeast, resulting in moderate to rough seas with waves reaching 2.1 to 3.1 meters. Fisherfolk and small seacraft operators are advised to take precautions. For the rest of Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas.

- Zamboanga Peninsula (Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay) – Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms. Temperature ranges from 23°C to 34°C.
- Northern Mindanao (Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental) – Mostly partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms. Camiguin will have cloudy skies with thunderstorms. Temperature ranges from 20°C to 32°C.
- Davao Region (Metro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental) – Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms. Davao Oriental will experience more rain compared to other provinces. Temperatures range from 22°C to 33°C.
- SOCCSKSARGEN (North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani) – Mostly partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers. Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani may experience heavier rains. Temperature ranges from 21°C to 30°C.
- Caraga (Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands) – Cloudy skies with thunderstorms, with moderate to rough coastal waters. Temperatures range from 21°C to 31°C.
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) (Cotabato City, Isabela City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur) – Partly cloudy to cloudy with rain showers or thunderstorms. Temperatures range from 19°C to 33°C.
