Claver, Surigao del Norte – February 3, 2025 – A coordinated anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XIII (PDEA RO XIII) has resulted in the arrest of a high-value target (HVT) in Barangay Hayanggabon, Claver, Surigao del Norte.
The operation, conducted at approximately 5:45 PM, was a joint effort involving the PDEA RO XIII Surigao del Norte Provincial Office, the Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Claver Municipal Police Station. The suspect was caught in the act of selling suspected shabu, with a total estimated value of Php7,000.
Authorities also seized several pieces of evidence, including marked buy-bust money, two mobile phones, a black coin purse, a disposable lighter, and cash amounting to Php650 in different denominations.
The suspect is set to face charges for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which penalizes the sale, trading, and distribution of illegal drugs.
PDEA officials and law enforcement agencies emphasize the crucial role of community involvement in combating the illegal drug trade.
