Digos City, Davao del Sur – Authorities successfully arrested a drug suspect known by the alias “SOY” during a joint buy-bust operation on February 1, 2025, at around 4:04 PM. The operation took place at Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Cogon, Digos City, and was conducted by personnel from the Digos City Police Station, along with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 11, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) DSPPO, 1st DSPMFC, 1104th MC RMFB, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The coordinated effort led to the confiscation of a heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 27.24 grams. The seized illegal substance has an estimated Standard Drug Price of PHP 185,232.
PLTCOL Florante S. Retes, Chief of Police of Digos City, commended the operating team for their successful apprehension of the suspect. He reaffirmed the authorities’ dedication to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
“We remain steadfast in our mission to maintain peace and order. This operation is a testament to our continuous efforts in the fight against illegal drugs,” PLTCOL Retes stated.
The arrested suspect is currently under police custody and is set to face charges in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to help in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
