Pandag, Maguindanao del Sur – A drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted on February 24 at around 4:30 PM along the provincial road in Barangay Kabuling, Pandag, Maguindanao del Sur.
The operation was led by PCPT Anthony A. Basanez, chief of the Pandag Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM).
Authorities identified the suspect as Mubasserin Abas Lagyan, a 26-year-old unemployed resident of Barangay Lepao, Paglas, Maguindanao del Sur. Seized from his possession was a 0.0130-gram sachet of suspected shabu, valued at PHP 500.
The arrest was witnessed by Barangay Captain Sukor Mama and media practitioner Jedin T. Daunotan.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pandag MPS detention facility and is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
