Davao de Oro, Philippines – The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office successfully executed an anti-drug operation on February 14, 2025, leading to the arrest of a drug suspect and the confiscation of illegal substances and related paraphernalia.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., operatives from the Maco Municipal Police Station (MPS), in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Unit and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), carried out a buy-bust operation at Purok 10, Barangay Poblacion. The operation was conducted under a pre-operation coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
During the sting operation, a 30-year-old van conductor, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, was apprehended after being caught in possession of suspected illegal drugs. Law enforcement officials seized one heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu, which served as the buy-bust item, along with four additional sachets of suspected shabu, a glass tube with suspected drug residue, and a black coin purse. Also recovered from the suspect were a gray Vivo mobile phone, a cut white paper, and an orange, black, and white RUSI motorcycle with a broken plate numbered 178AR. Authorities also took a Php500 bill used as buy-bust money as part of the evidence.
The suspect and the confiscated items are now under the custody of Maco MPS for proper documentation and filing of appropriate charges. Law enforcement officials reaffirmed their dedication to intensifying anti-drug operations and ensuring a drug-free community in Davao de Oro.
