Bukidnon, Philippines – A robbery at GT Fuel Station in Barangay Adtuyon, Pangantucan, Bukidnon, escalated into a deadly armed confrontation between police and suspects on February 15, 2025.
According to authorities, the incident was reported at approximately 9:27 AM when a GT Fuel employee alerted the Pangantucan Municipal Police Station (MPS) about unidentified robbers fleeing in a gray Toyota Fortuner. In response, police launched a hot pursuit operation, which led to a tense standoff at a checkpoint in Sitio Bong Bong.
The suspects refused to stop at the checkpoint and attempted to evade capture, prompting law enforcement to engage in a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended in Sitio Bugwak, Bacusanon, where the suspects opened fire on the pursuing officers. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, the suspects’ vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a canal.
One suspect was fatally shot during the confrontation, while two others managed to escape on foot. At the scene, authorities recovered a hand grenade and a .45 caliber pistol, raising concerns about the suspects’ potential involvement in other criminal activities.
Law enforcement agencies have intensified their manhunt operations to track down the remaining fugitives. Forensic and explosives experts have also been deployed to examine the evidence and further investigate the incident.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may aid in the swift capture of the suspects still at large.
