SIBUTU, Tawi-Tawi — In a significant move to bolster security and strengthen community collaboration, Police Colonel Rodolfo A. Inoy Jr., Provincial Director of the Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office, conducted a comprehensive field visit to Sibutu Municipality on January 11, 2024.
The day commenced with a detailed inspection of the Sibutu Municipal Police Station, led by Police Captain Aldin J. Nurhussin, the Chief of Police. The visit highlighted operational assessments and reinforced shared goals to improve local law enforcement’s capabilities and efficiency. PCOL Inoy emphasized the importance of equipping the police force with the necessary tools and strategies to ensure the safety of the community.
The Provincial Director also paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Air Force in Sibutu, where he met with 2nd Lieutenant John Rie R. Tangon, Executive Officer of TOS Sibutu. This engagement underscored the need for close coordination between the police and military in addressing security challenges and maintaining peace in the area.
A meeting with Honorable Mayor Nur-Fitra Ahaja further deepened the Provincial Director’s understanding of local issues. Discussions focused on public safety concerns and collaborative strategies to address the municipality’s security needs effectively. Mayor Ahaja expressed appreciation for the police’s proactive measures and commitment to ensuring the welfare of Sibutu’s residents.
As part of his visit, PCOL Inoy highlighted the role of religious and cultural institutions in fostering community unity. He visited the historic Sheik Karimul Makhdum Mosque, a symbol of Sibutu’s rich heritage, to underscore the importance of peace and mutual respect in achieving societal harmony.
The day concluded with PCOL Inoy engaging with residents of Barangay Tandu-Owak. This interaction allowed the Provincial Director to hear firsthand the concerns and aspirations of the community, demonstrating his dedication to building trust and addressing the needs of Sibutu’s people.
