Maco, Davao de Oro – In a decisive operation against online sexual exploitation, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, through the Maco Municipal Police Station, successfully rescued three children and apprehended a suspect identified as “Jane Pearl.” The suspect was arrested for her alleged involvement in the online sexual abuse and exploitation of minors.

The successful operation was the result of coordinated efforts among various law enforcement and social welfare agencies. These included the Women and Children Protection Center – Mindanao Field Unit (WCPC-MFU), Maco Municipal Police Station (MPS), Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD)-Maco, and the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 11 (RACU11). Their work was further strengthened by the collaboration of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO)-Maco and the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking/Regional Anti-Child Trafficking Task Force 11 (RIACAT/RATTF11), with critical support from the International Justice Mission (IJM).

Following the operation, the rescued children were immediately placed under the care of MSWDO-Maco for assessment and further evaluation to ensure their safety and well-being.

The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office expressed gratitude to all agencies involved for their dedication and teamwork in combatting online sexual exploitation. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting vulnerable children and ensuring that perpetrators of such crimes are held accountable.

Law enforcement officials continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to online sexual exploitation and child abuse to help in the ongoing fight against such crimes.
