GLAN, Sarangani Province — The lifeless body of Joey V. Sumit, who was earlier reported missing, has been found floating in the waters off Barangay Baliton in Glan, Sarangani Province.
A local fisherman discovered Sumit’s body around 9:30 AM today, approximately three kilometers from the shore. Authorities from the Sarangani Maritime Police promptly responded after receiving the report to verify the incident.
Based on the investigation, Sumit went missing after heroically rescuing his siblings, who nearly drowned while swimming in the sea. Strong waves swept him away, preventing him from resurfacing and carrying him further out to sea.
