Iligan City—A buy-bust operation along Tibanga Highway, Barangay San Miguel, on January 22, 2025, led to the confiscation of approximately 1,400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of Php9,520,000. The operation, conducted at around 12:30 PM, resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
The seized illegal drugs were discovered in one vacuum-sealed transparent plastic pack and four knot-tied plastic packs. Additional items confiscated included a black shoulder bag, an opened green tea foil pack labeled “GUANYINWANG” with Chinese characters, a black J&T plastic pouch, a brown paper bag, a Toyota Fortuner with its key, and the marked buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects were identified as Raisah Amer y Radiamoda, a 59-year-old unemployed resident of Purok Adelfa, West Barangay Mahayhay, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, and a certain “Bappa,” who sustained injuries during the operation.
Authorities confirmed that charges will be filed against the suspects for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) RO IX Regional Special Enforcement Team, in coordination with PDEA RO X Lanao del Norte Provincial Office, PDEA RO X Misamis Occidental Provincial Office, and the Regional Intelligence Unit.
This successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region. Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the drug trade.
