Butuan City — A collaborative anti-drug operation led to the seizure of suspected dried marijuana during a K9 interdiction conducted at a cargo transport service provider in Barangay Villa Kananga on December 4, 2024, around 6:10 PM.

The operation was executed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XIII (PDEA RO XIII) Agusan del Norte Provincial Office (ADNPO), Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), PDEA AIU and K9 Unit, PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 13 (RDEU-13), and Butuan City Police Station 1 (BCPS1).

Using K9 units, authorities discovered a package containing one kilogram of suspected dried marijuana leaves in brick form, wrapped in transparent plastic. The confiscated item has an estimated street value of PHP 120,000.

To aid in the ongoing investigation, the identity and declared address of the consignee are being withheld. Authorities are working to trace the package’s origin and identify the sender.

PDEA RO XIII lauded the teamwork and vigilance of its partner agencies in this successful operation, emphasizing their commitment to intercepting illegal drugs in transit and safeguarding communities.

The agency also reiterated its call for public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities, underscoring that collective action is essential to achieving a drug-free society.
