North Cotabato Governor Lala Taliño-Mendoza has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to fostering peace and progress in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Recognized this year as one of the 10 Outstanding Bangsamoro Peace Champions, Governor Mendoza continues to build stronger ties with the region through collaborative efforts and support for its initiatives.

The governor’s dedication is evident in her consistent support for the 63 barangays under the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of BARMM, which were formerly part of North Cotabato. Despite the territorial transition, her administration ensures the continued delivery of social services to these communities. Her office also provides guidance to newly appointed officials, particularly on critical processes such as tax collection.

Governor Mendoza’s proactive engagement extends beyond administrative support. She regularly visits BARMM communities, strengthening the bond between North Cotabato and the autonomous region. On Thursday, she led a delegation, including Board Member Sittie Eljorie Antao-Balisi, MP Mohammad Kelie U. Antao, PGO-OMA Head Edris Gandalibo, and Ella Taliño Taray, to meet with key BARMM leaders.

During the visit, the governor held discussions with BARMM Chief Minister Ahod “Al-haj Murad” B. Ebrahim, BARMM Minister of Labor and Employment Datu Muslimin Sema, former Congressional Representative Bai Sandra A. Sema, and BARMM Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education Minister Mohagber M. Iqbal. She also met with BARMM Member of Parliament Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan, MNSA, to explore collaborative opportunities for the region’s development.

These meetings underscore Governor Mendoza’s steadfast commitment to the Bangsamoro peace process and her active role in fostering meaningful partnerships for regional growth.

Governor Mendoza’s recognition as an Outstanding Bangsamoro Peace Champion reflects her dedication to the principles of unity, peace, and prosperity. Her efforts continue to serve as a bridge between North Cotabato and BARMM, ensuring that progress and harmony benefit all communities in the region.
