A former supporter of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the personnel of the 1st Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in Purok Rosal, Barangay Poblacion, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, on December 26, 2024.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Jay Capurcos, Force Commander of the 1st Zamboanga Sibugay PMFC, identified the surrenderer as “Tata,” a 25-year-old male resident of Purok Golden Shower, Guinoman, Dipalahan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

“Tata” was a former supporter and courier of the CTG Affected Mass Organization (CAMO) under the Regional Urban Committee Zamboanga Sibugay Chapter of the Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee (WMPRC). His decision to return to the folds of the law was driven by his desire to lead a peaceful and orderly life with his family.

This surrender aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to eradicate insurgency through comprehensive programs and initiatives. The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to encourage remaining CTG members and supporters to lay down their arms and avail themselves of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which aims to provide a pathway toward reintegration and unity for a brighter future under the “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines) agenda.

Authorities commend “Tata” for his courage in choosing peace and encourage others to follow suit as the government intensifies its efforts to end decades-long conflict and promote lasting harmony in communities.
