Two individuals—a farmer and a businessman—were killed in separate ambushes in neighboring areas in Sultan Kudarat on Friday night, according to reports from local police stations.
In Tacurong City, businessman Rel Blanco was fatally shot by armed assailants while driving along Alunan Highway. Blanco was with his wife in the car during the attack, but she survived the incident unharmed. Witnesses said the gunmen quickly fled the scene after the shooting.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Kabulakan, Lambayong, farmer Aldrin Ablaneda, 46, was ambushed while driving his tricycle home through a remote stretch of the highway. The attackers opened fire, killing him instantly. According to the Lambayong Municipal Police, the perpetrators also managed to escape.
Both incidents occurred on Friday evening, sparking fear and concern among residents of Sultan Kudarat. Authorities are investigating the motives behind the attacks and are working to identify the perpetrators to bring them to justice.
