November 9, 2024, Tagum City, Davao del Norte — In a coordinated effort, law enforcement agencies successfully apprehended a high-value target known as alias “Sherwin,” ranked as the PRO 13 Top 6 Regional High Value Target, in a joint operation conducted at Purok Waling-Waling, Brgy Visayan in Tagum City. Sherwin’s capture was carried out in response to a standing warrant of arrest issued for murder by Acting Presiding Judge Hon. Conchita D. Montecillo of Branch 40, Regional Trial Court, 11th Judicial Region in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
During the arrest, authorities discovered a caliber .45 pistol with an inserted magazine containing seven live rounds, along with an additional magazine loaded with eight live rounds. Upon inquiry, Sherwin failed to present legal documentation for the firearm and ammunition.
PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of PRO 11, commended the joint effort, highlighting the collaborative work among the Tagum City Police Station, Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO), Regional Intelligence Unit 11 (RIU 11), Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU), Provincial Special Operation Group (PSOG), 1st Davao Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, 15th Special Action Company (SAC) of the Special Action Battalion (SAB), Surigao del Sur Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) – Regional Intelligence Unit 13 (RIU 13), and the Tandag City Police Station.
“This successful operation is a testament to our commitment to rid Davao Region of individuals attempting to evade justice,” said PBGEN Rosete. He emphasized that PRO 11 will continue to enhance patrol operations throughout the region to ensure the safety of all citizens and reinforce efforts against high-value and wanted criminals.
The operation aligns with the directives from PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police, to intensify measures against high-value targets and bolster national security for a safer Philippines.
