Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay — Authorities arrested a high-profile drug suspect in a successful buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Poblacion, Ipil, on November 13, 2024. Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office, Ipil Municipal Police Station, and the 903rd Mobile Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 apprehended Juve Sano Toledo, 35, a resident of Purok Melodia, Barangay Poblacion.
The operation, which took place at 10:15 a.m., led to the seizure of approximately 5.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of Php 37,400.00. Law enforcement officials also confiscated a red tubular container, a Green Infinix 8 smartphone, and marked buy-bust money from the suspect.
Toledo, who is reportedly ranked as the Top 8 on the region’s drug watchlist, faces serious charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He will be charged in court for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II, of Republic Act No. 9165, which addresses the illegal sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
Local authorities emphasized their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations in the province and continue to work closely with community leaders to track and apprehend other individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
