October 31, 2024, Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao del Norte — A shooting incident in Barangay Balut, Sultan Mastura, left one person dead on Thursday, just after 10 a.m. The victim, identified as Brah Daro, a local Ustadz (Islamic teacher) from Barangay Matengen, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, was attacked while riding a payong-payong, a local motorized vehicle.
According to witnesses, the unknown assailant approached and opened fire on Daro as he arrived in Barangay Balut. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, leading to his immediate death at the scene.
