Iligan City – A buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Saray late yesterday afternoon, November 21, 2024, led to the arrest of five individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
The operation, spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office X, specifically the Lanao del Norte Provincial Office and Seaport Interdiction Unit, was executed in coordination with Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) Police Station 5, the Philippine Army Task Force Iligan, and the PPA Port Police.
Authorities seized approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 68,000.00, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.
The arrested individuals, identified by their aliases as Nard, Jo, Bert, Al, and Lan, are all residents of Barangay Saray, Iligan City. They now face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This successful operation highlights the steadfast commitment of PDEA RO-X and its partner agencies to combat the illegal drug trade and promote safer communities within the region.
