Davao City, Philippines – A fire broke out at Purok 30, Market Side in Barangay Ma-a, Davao City, around 8 a.m. last November 24, leaving 16 households and one establishment damaged.
According to initial investigations by the Davao City Fire District, 14 homes were completely destroyed while two others sustained partial damage. The estimated cost of the damage is around PHP 400,000, with the blaze affecting approximately 30 families. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Local authorities, including the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Health Office, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), are actively assisting the displaced families. Relief efforts, including temporary shelters, food packs, and health services, are being provided to those affected.
Fire investigators are still determining the cause of the blaze, and further updates will be released as the investigation progresses.
