November 8, Friday Night – A member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur, was shot dead while on duty in Barangay Mother Labu Labu.
According to a report from the Shariff Aguak Local Government Unit (LGU), the victim has been identified as Dhong Lasad. Initial investigations reveal that Lasad was fulfilling his duties at the BPAT outpost when an unidentified suspect on a motorcycle approached and opened fire.
The gunman fled immediately in the direction of Datu Hoffer Municipality. Lasad sustained multiple gunshot wounds, which led to his death.
The Shariff Aguak Municipal Police Station (MPS) is conducting a follow-up investigation to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the shooting.
The LGU Shariff Aguak has condemned the killing of BPAT member Dhong Lasad, stressing that he was merely performing his duties to ensure the safety and security of the community.
