Authorities have successfully apprehended a high-profile suspect listed among the Top 10 Most Wanted Persons in Maguindanao del Norte. The arrest occurred on October 15, 2024, around 4:30 PM, at Sitio Pinto, Barangay Renede, North Upi, Maguindanao del Norte. The suspect, known by the aliases “Perut” and “Mundas Anok,” faces charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs, a violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The warrant for the suspect’s arrest, listed under Criminal Case Number 2024-11442, was issued by the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 27, 12th Judicial Region in Cotabato City on February 6, 2024. The charges carry no recommended bail, underscoring the gravity of the case.
A joint team led the operation, involving members from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Maguindanao Provincial Field Unit (PFU), CIDG RSOT RFU BAR, CIT RIU15, Maguindanao Maritime Station, and the Upi Municipal Police Station. The well-coordinated operation was executed under Pre-Operation Clearance Control No. 10-15-038191 and Blotter Entry No. 2024-10-0307.
Throughout the arrest, the suspect’s rights were protected in accordance with the law, particularly under Republic Act 9745 (Anti-Torture Act of 2009). The suspect was subsequently transported to the CIDG Maguindanao PFU office for proper documentation and processing.
