Upi, Maguindanao — In a joint operation conducted by the Upi PNP and the 1st Maneuver Platoon Upi, three individuals were apprehended during an anti-drug operation on Thursday, January 2, 2025. The operation was initiated after a tip-off from the wife of one of the suspects, who reported the illegal activities to the police.
The suspects were caught in the act while conducting a “pot session” in an abandoned house located in Barangay Mirab, Upi. Seized from the suspects were illegal drugs and various drug paraphernalia. However, one suspect, identified as the husband of the woman who reported the activities, managed to escape during the operation.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and search for the suspect who fled. The arrested individuals are now in police custody and face charges related to illegal drug use and possession. The Upi PNP emphasized their commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the community and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to local authorities.
This successful operation highlights the importance of community cooperation in combating the drug menace in the region.
