Authorities from the Carmen Municipal Police Station (MPS) immediately conducted a verification operation after videos and photos of a lifeless man, discovered in a stream in Sitio Pagadatan, Barangay Langogan, Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), circulated on social media. The body was found by residents on Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2024, at around 2:00 PM.
According to police reports, the man was of medium build, standing approximately 5’7″ to 5’8″ tall. He was found shirtless and trapped among several large pieces of driftwood in the stream.
The Carmen MPS also coordinated with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) for assistance in retrieving the body. However, after questioning local residents living near the stream, authorities were unable to identify the man as no one recognized him.
The Carmen police are urging anyone who may have missing relatives to contact their station for assistance in identifying the deceased.
