Lamitan City, Basilan, October 14, 2024 – A resident of Barangay Santa Clara, Lamitan City, voluntarily surrendered his loose firearm to the 1st Basilan Provincial Mobile Force Company in an effort to contribute to peace and security in the area.
The individual, identified as “Abe,” a 50-year-old local resident, handed over the firearm to the authorities. Police Lieutenant Colonel Allan M. Benasing, Force Commander of the 1st Basilan Provincial Mobile Force Company, confirmed the surrender.
The initiative to recover loose firearms aims to prevent their use in criminal activities and enhance the safety and security of the local community. Authorities continue their efforts to gather loose firearms to ensure the protection and well-being of all residents in the region.
