On the night of Saturday, October 12, 2024, an explosion occurred outside the office of Bangsamoro Health Minister and Member of Parliament Kadil “Jojo” Sinolinding Jr. in Zenaida Subdivision, Barangay Rosary Heights 8, Cotabato City. Authorities believe a grenade was used in the blast, although the Cotabato City Police Office’s explosives experts are still investigating to confirm the exact nature of the explosive device.
The office targeted by the explosion is separate from Dr. Sinolinding’s office as Health Minister, which is located within the Bangsamoro capitol, approximately a kilometer away from the site of the incident. Fortunately, no one was reported injured in the explosion.
Local law enforcement, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), has launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible. Meanwhile, residents expressed gratitude for the swift response of the Marines and officers from Precinct No. 2, who quickly secured the area after the blast.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as they assess potential threats to public safety, while Dr. Sinolinding’s office has yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
