Wao, Lanao del Sur – October 7, 2024 – In a joint law enforcement operation, authorities successfully apprehended a drug suspect during a buy-bust operation conducted along the National Highway in Purok 7, Barangay West Kilikili, Wao, Lanao del Sur.
The operation, which took place at approximately 3:50 PM, was led by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG), in collaboration with Wao Municipal Police Station (MPS), the 3rd Platoon of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG) of Lanao del Sur, and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) of PRO BAR. Other key units involved were the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) and the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) BAR.
The arrested suspect, identified by the alias “Totong,” is a resident of Purok 5, Barangay East Kilikili, Wao. Recovered from his possession were multiple pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 15 grams, with an estimated street value of Php 102,000. Additionally, authorities confiscated the marked buy-bust money and a Kawasaki Bajaj 100 motorcycle used by the suspect.
The markings, pictorials, and inventory of the seized items were conducted at the scene of the operation in the presence of Barangay West Kilikili Chairman, a media representative, and other witnesses.
PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), commended the joint efforts of the operating units for their efficient coordination and execution of the operation. He lauded the team’s success in taking another step toward eliminating illegal drugs in the region.
The suspect, along with the confiscated pieces of evidence, was brought to the Wao MPS for proper documentation and further legal procedures. This successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities in Lanao del Sur, contributing to the region’s peace and order.
