Magallanes, Agusan del Norte – October 29, 2024 – The Magallanes Municipal Police Station, in a coordinated effort with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), successfully executed an anti-illegal drug operation that resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and the seizure of illegal drugs, commonly known as “Shabu.”
The operation took place at Purok 4, Barangay Marcos, where authorities served a search warrant and apprehended a 42-year-old male, identified as alias “Nonoy,” a resident of the area.
PCOL April Mark C. Young, Acting Provincial Director of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO), confirmed the details of the operation. “The Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Magallanes MPS acted swiftly, ensuring that the rights of the arrested individual were upheld throughout the process,” he said.
The suspect is now in custody at the Magallanes Municipal Police Station, facing charges under Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
Representatives from the Department of Justice, local media, and Barangay officials were present during the operation to serve as witnesses, highlighting the transparency and accountability of the police’s actions.
“May this accomplishment serve as a stern warning that we will remain keen with our anti-illegal drug operations until Agusan del Norte becomes a drug-cleared province,” PCOL Young stated, reinforcing the police’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs from the region.
The successful operation underscores ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in Agusan del Norte and promote community safety.
