Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur – September 27, 2024 — Two individuals were arrested early today during a successful buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region XIII, in coordination with the Bayugan City Police Station and the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit.
The operation, conducted at Purok 4, Barangay Cagbas, Bayugan City, resulted in the arrest of Alan Sastre y Rufole and his accomplice, Junrey Pilapil y Gidoman, both suspected of involvement in drug-related activities.
Authorities seized suspected shabu valued at approximately Php 25,000, along with the buy-bust money, a Redmi smartphone, and a black Rusi Passion motorcycle.
Both suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They are currently being held at the PDEA Region XIII custodial facility for booking and further legal proceedings.
The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement agencies to curb the illegal drug trade and maintain peace and order in the region.
