Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — In a successful anti-drug operation, personnel from the Pantar Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office (LDN PPO), arrested a suspect in Punod, Pantar, Lanao del Norte on September 19, 2024.
The operation was conducted through the implementation of Search Warrant No. 139-2024, issued by Hon. Alberto P. Quinto, Presiding Judge of the 12th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 1, Iligan City. The pre-operation authority was sanctioned under PDEA Pre-Ops No. 30002-092024-0533.
The suspect, a 37-year-old male, married, and a DI Watchlisted individual, was apprehended at his residence during the operation. Recovered from the suspect were the following items:
- One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.3 grams with an estimated street value of Php 2,040.00
- One folded piece of aluminum foil
The suspect now faces charges for violating Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case is being prepared for filing in court.
PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDN PPO, praised the swift action of the personnel involved, saying, “This successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the LDN PPO and its partner agencies in the fight against illegal drugs, ensuring the safety and security of the community.”
The arrest further highlights the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies in Lanao del Norte to eradicate illegal drug activities and protect the public from the dangers of narcotics.
